About macOS Sierra (macOS 10.12.1) compatibility with Canon Cameras and Application

 
When connected via USB, [Register lens aberration correction data][Web Service Settings] functions cannot be used.Please execute these functions via Wi-Fi connection.[Register lens aberration correction data] [Web Service Settings] can be performed by following instructions in [Procedure-1].So please refer the section below.

We would like to inform users about system compatibility of macOS Sierra (macOS 10.12.1) with Canon Cameras and Applications.



1. List of Camera Application Compatibility Verification Results for macOS 10.12.1 (Sierra)

Consumer-use PC Applications ImageBrowser EX 1.5.2 Text becomes garbled if the application is operated in Japanese / Chinese / Korean.it is possible to use ImageBrowser EX on macOS 10.12.1 in languages other than Japanese / Chinese / Korean. The application is no longer supported and there is no plan for the support in the future.
PhotoStitch 3.2.7 Usable without any problems in the operation.  
Map Utility 1.7.2 GP-E2 is not available because it has no USB connection. Release of the supported version is under consideration.

EOS Utility 3.5.0 There are functions that are unusable for EOS 80D, EOS-1D X Mark II and EOS 5D Mark IV. (* Refer to the Table-1)  
2.14.20a Confirmed that USB connection has become available for macOS 10.12.1. Unable to update the older version. Release of the supported version is under consideration.

Driver SELPHY CP Printer Driver 6.7 CP1200 and CP910 employ the AirPrint technology, so this driver not required. This driver is required for other models. The SELPHY CP Printer Driver cannot be installed in macOS 10.12.1. In an environment installed with this driver, the Mac PC can be updated to macOS 10.12.1. In this case, you can use it without any problems. Release of the supported version is under consideration.

3. How to register lens aberration correction data / Web Service Settings [Procedure-1]

Follow the procedure below to register lens data.
Before starting please make sure the camera is not connected to the computer.

  1. Click the "EOS Utility" icon displayed at the top right of the menu bar.
  2. Place a checkmark next to "Do not launch EOS Utility automatically when camera is connected".
  3. Connect the camera and computer via a USB cable, and turn the camera's power switch to ON.
  4. Display the folder where the software is saved.

[Register lens aberration correction data]
  1. Open the [EOS Lens Registration Tool] inside the [Canon Utilities] folder.
  2. Start-up the EOS Lens Registration Tool in the [EOS Lens Registration Tool] folder.
  3. Place checkmarks next to the required lens data and click the OK button.

To register lens data again or do remote shooting, etc., please turn the camera's power off then on again before using.

[Web Service Settings]

  1. Open the [EOS Web Service Registration Tool] inside the [Canon Utilities] folder.
  2. Start-up the EOS Web Service Registration Tool in the [EOS Web Service Registration Tool] folder.
  3. Log in to CANON iMAGE GATEWAY and set Web services to use.
